New Mexico Water is firmly committed to user privacy. Any information that can be used to identify individual customers is collected only with user permission. This document discloses types of information collected, how information is collected, and addresses the end use of collected information.
Information that cannot be used to identify individual users
We collect standard Web-browsing information of the type that is routinely collected in server data logs. This information cannot be used to identify an individual user, and it is analyzed to determine general audience interests and Web site design requirements.
Information that can be used to identify individual users
Sensitive customer information will never be stored on our web server. Generally, customer information will only be used for New Mexico Water purposes and will be treated with the same security precautions as data gathered by other means (e.g. telephone, written forms, mail-in information, etc.). Information will not be given to outside entities, such as contractors, direct marketers, or other non-New Mexico Water public- or private-sector organizations except when we have your permission or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or that such action is necessary to (i) protect and defend the rights and property of New Mexico Water and (ii) act in an emergency to protect the personal safety of our customers or the public.
