Application to Recover $6.6 Million in Plant Upgrade Investments
On June 26, 2026, New Mexico Water filed with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) an application seeking a sewer rate adjustment of $234,000. If approved by the PRC, the corresponding revenues will be used to fund ongoing sewer operations and recovery of investments made in its two waste water treatment plants made over the 2025 through 2027 time period. This proceeding will include a financial and prudency review of all NMWSC sewer operations. Any resolution of the proceeding and change corresponding change in rates is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2027. The last NMWSC Sewer proceeding of this kind was in 2001.
